The Whales are here!
August is here and the whale watching season in Hervey Bay has started with a bang!!! There have been some amazing sightings by our tour operators. The month of August is traditionally the annual Hervey Bay Whale Festival month, so there are plenty of various events planned, for families, couples and singles as well. Starting with the Illumination Parade and Whale Concert this Saturday 3rd August on the Esplanade followed by a Free concert and fireworks at 8:30pm. Followed on Sunday 4th August with Paddle out for Whales at the Ernie Organ Park, Torquay, this event is open to everyone and they are hoping to make this year bigger and better than last! Bring your boards, kayaks and SUPs and paddle out for a minutes silence to recognise the importance the whales have to the oceans, our world and our community, starts at 9:30am.
The Hervey Bay Seafood Festival which is a great day out to sample some of the areas delicious seafood and other great treats is on Sunday 11th August starting at 10am and only $5 entry (under 18 FREE). This event is being held at Fishermans Park, Urangan, and there will be activities, local music and stalls as well to browse and enjoy.
